An elder and his disciple went up to the summit of Mount Sinai where they became aware of a sweet smell about two bow-shots from Saint Elias'Church. Then they saw the Church as though it were on fire, with flames licking out of the windows. The elder said: "This is an angels' work." They entered boldly and prayed, as though in a furnace. The παραμovάριoς knew from their faces (shining, like Moses',) that they had seen a wonder. Reluctant at first to tell, they eventually revealed this experience.
